Gateway to the Marlborough Sounds
Picton - the quaint and lively ‘gateway’ to the magnificent Marlborough Sounds, is also the converging point for ferry passengers traversing the waters of Cook Strait and Queen Charlotte Sound between the North and South Islands.
Picton and the surrounding area, though, is far more than just a departure or arrival point for travellers heading further afield; it is indeed a destination in itself.
